2 Workshops at Dundee Women’s Festival 2011

Dundee Women’s Festival celebrates women with events, film, arts, drama, and workshops from 28th February to 13th March. This year, the celebration is particularly special – Tuesday 8th March 2011 marks 100 years of International Women’s Day events. We are thrilled to be included in the exciting programme of events put together by Dundee Voluntary Action.

Women’s History Bring and Tell workshop
Wednesday 9th March, 2pm-4pm; Central Library (Conference Room)

We would love to hear your story, or the story of an important woman in your life. All you have to do is bring along a personal object – it could be a photograph, a letter, a piece of clothing or jewellery, a handicraft, or any memento – and tell us about it. We will record your story for the Glasgow Women’s Library archives. If you would rather be on the listening end, we will have sound and video recordings of fantastic and diverse women from our oral histories archives.

The F-Word DVD Screening
Wednesday 9th March, 6.30pm-7.30pm; Central Library (Wighton Centre)

If you have ever wondered about feminism, and how it relates to modern women and girls, come along to our screening of The F-Word. This lively and provocative film was developed by Pilton Video and the F-Word girls group; it follows the learning journeys of culturally diverse young women exploring feminism. After the screening we will be hosting a relaxed discussion and other workshop activities surrounding the important issues raised in the film.
