Votes for Women

Vote Today to Change Tomorrow

The Scottish Holyrood Election will be held on 5 May 2011. In the last Scottish Election only 51% of those who can vote did.

Glasgow Women’s Library is offering you the opportunity to question candidates and representatives of the main parties. The decisions made by political parties affect your lives. For example, according to the Fawcett Society’s Stop Cutting Women Out article, possible cuts will affect the lives of women more than men.

The representatives attending from each of the parties are:

  • Greens – Martha Wardrop (Glasgow Councillor)
  • Labour – Anne Dyer (List Candidate)
  • Liberal Democrats – Natalie McKee (Regional Candidate)
  • Conservatives – Margaret Toner (Councillor)
  • Scottish Socialist Party – Frances Curran (List Candidate)
  • George Galloway – Coalition Against the Cuts – Angela McCormack (List Candidate)
  • Scottish National Party – Anne McLaughlin (MSP Glasgow)

It is essential that we get our voices heard during this election so please join us at Glasgow Women’s Library, 15 Berkeley Street on:

Thursday 21 April, 6pm to 7.30pm

Register now to avoid disappointment and submit any questions you have for representatives directly to us through the website or call 0141 248 9969 before Wednesday 20 April 2011.

Just checking who the main parties are for these purposes. Will you be including SSP/Galloway etc or just the five Holyrood parties?
