Who do we work with?

WEA SCOTLAND: WOMEN@WORK

WEA Scotland’s women@work is a women’s network based in the Highlands, which provides information and support for all working women, paid and unpaid. As well as offering learning opportunities, the project aims to enable women to speak out about their concerns – whether at home, work, or the community – through regular local meetings.

In partnership with Paths For All, GWL has worked on tour guide training, women’s heritage walks, and our national conference One Small Step.

DUNDEE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S CENTRE

Dundee International Women’s Centre (DIWC) is a community organisation providing a safe and friendly environment for the personal development of all women, regardless of race, culture, faith/belief, age, ability or sexual orientation. It provides a wide range of social, educational, recreational and volunteering activities aimed at empowering women and providing a channel for their voices in the local and wider communities.

Our One Small Step event has inspired the women at DIWC to start planning a BME women’s heritage walk around Dundee.

WIGTOWN WOMEN’S TRAIL GROUP

This group have been working on developing a women’s heritage walk in Wigtown for over a year, and in March 2010, the group launched their Wigtown Women’s History Walk. We are proud to say that GWL’s Women Make History programme inspired the Wigtown women to start developing their own project, and we have continued to provide support.
