1972: Tracing the beginning of Gay Pride

The 'Lesbian Feminist' edition of June 1972 contains this article detailing an Los Angeles Pride march 3 years after the New York Stonewall riots. Pride was the modern creation of a gay rights movement and took advantage of a decade that was in rebellion against the post-war era and conservative values.

Pride events are now held round the world including our sunny Scottish contribution every June!
