Another example of how lesbians slipped under the radar of most of society and by default, the law, is apparent in there being no law criminalising sexual acts between women.

Gay men have not been so lucky, and even though sex between men was legalised in the 60's, the age of consent for heterosexual and homosexual consent was unequal until 2000. This booklet, produced by Stonewall in 1993, puts forward the case for an equal age of consent for gay men.
