Be a Literacy Tutor

We are looking for friendly women who understand the importance of tutoring, not lecturing!

Volunteer Tutors Required:

We need ITALL-trained volunteers to assist women to gain confidence, skills, knowledge and understanding in literacy and numeracy so that they can cope with everyday situations. (i.e. Going shopping, paying a bill, writing a letter, reading to their kids)

There will be no curriculum to follow; the learning is guided by the learner's choice of what they want to work on.

All volunteers will have their travel expenses reimbursed, support and guidance from the Library's Adult Literacy and Numeracy Development Worker and access to a range of resources and materials from GWL.

An ITALL qualification is essential.

If you are interested in volunteering with the Library's ALN project, please download the form below, and return the completed form to the Library.
