Spring at Glasgow Women's Library

We've a full and wide-ranging programme of events over the next few months, from walking tours to story workshops, and from family history to Open University taster courses.

More information about the GWL Spring Programme.

Active Citizenship and Living Histories

The current Lifelong Learning themes at GWL are Active Citizenship and Living Histories, and the new Women Make History project draws both these themes together.

The migration of women to Glasgow: Our 'untold' stories

Glasgow Women's Library is researching and compiling the stories of women who relocated to Glasgow to start a new life. We are keen to capture the fascinating stories of women who worked hard to maintain themselves and their families in an entirely different culture and climate.

We are keen to hear from people who would like to take part in this project as a volunteer or participant, or both! If you are interested, please contact the Library.

Coming Soon

The Lifelong Learning team are introducing a range of "Have a Go" courses: one-off taster workshops in a range of areas from music to comedy and more. We are always keen to hear about what you would like from us, so why not contact us to say what you would like to "have a go" at.

The F Word

In 2006, the Library worked with Edinburgh-based Pilton Video on an exciting project working with a culturally diverse group of young women exploring the history and current meaning of feminism. The F Word project culminated in the production of two short films - The F Word & Fish on a Bike. These will be screened at the GFT on Saturday, 14th April, followed by a Q&A session with the filmmakers.
