Relocating GWL

The Mitchell Library

After 13 glorious years at 109 Trongate, Glasgow Women's Library has 'decanted' into temporary premises at 81 Parnie Street (just around the corner from 109).

Our long-term home will eventually be at the Mitchell Library, where we anticipate a 2009/10 relaunch in our new premises - the former Anderston Public Library on Berkeley Street (which itself has relocated to a different section of the Mitchell Library as part of its refurbishment programme).

We are very excited about our move to the Mitchell and, following consultation with members, users, learners and other stakeholders, are in the process of realising our vision for the space. A Feasibility Study, Cost Analysis and full Disability Access Audit have already been completed and we are now implementing our funding strategy to raise the £700,000 needed for capital building works and refit.

Please contact Sue John, the Library's Strategic Development Manager, with any comments, ideas or suggestions, and keep in touch with what we're doing at our Library Blog.
