Women In Scotland

GWL has been managing and developing the Women in Scotland Database on behalf of the Scottish Government for the past few years. Its purpose is to record the contact details, interests, activities, resources and issues of concern of all organisations providing services to women in Scotland. Groups can opt to receive relevant consultation documents and invitations to meetings, workshops, etc. from the Scottish Government and similar bodies, enabling the voices and opinions of women in Scotland to be heard.

With the introduction of the Gender Equality Duty in April 2007 there has been a requirement on Scottish public authorities to have due regard to the need:

Guidance for public authorities can be found here (Download PDF).

If you know of any organisations who you think are not on the database and would like to be or if you have recently changed address please contact Alison on alison.gardiner [at] womenslibrary.org.uk, phone 0141 552 8345 or using the form below and we will send you a form to fill in. You do not have to be an organisation catering solely for women to be added to the database and your contact details can be kept out of the public domain where required.

Please sign up and allow the women you represent to have their say on subjects as diverse as violence against women, rural development, sexuality, health, racism, poverty, transport and lifelong learning.
